Kogan-Shats Matvey Borisovich (1911-1989) was a Ukrainian born painter born in Mogilev-Podolsky. In 1934-1939 he studied at the Kyiv Art Institute with A. Shovkunenko and P. Volokidin. He lived and worked in Kyiv, painting mainly landscapes. Since 1939, he took part in exhibitions, including foreign ones (Italy, France, Yugoslavia – 1968, Japan – 1970, etc.). The artist’s works are presented in the National Art Museum of Ukraine, as well as in Poltava, Nikolaev, Berdyansk art museums, Alupka Palace Museum.
