Masik, V.
Born in 1917 in Ekaterinoslav, Ukraine, Vladimir Masik began formal art training early in life. At age 17, he began studying fine art at the Dnepropetrovsk Artist’s Studio, and at age 18 entered Dnepropetrovsk Art College, where he completed a four-year art degree, graduating in 1939. Active in the Kiev, Ukraine art scene, Masik enrolled at the Kiev State Art Institute in 1944 and graduated in 1950. Known for his sweeping landscapes and thematic scenes, as well as tender portraits, Masik was an active member of the Union of Ukrainian artists. He died in Dnepropetrovsk in 1996.
